AQUAGUARD floor seal / varnish has also been tested to conform to the spec BS EN 14904 (Surfaces for sports areas – Indoor surfaces for multi-sports use – Specification) which refers to the procedure and standard of slip resistance within BS EN 13036-4:2003.
The two components are easily mixed by shaking and do not require the use of special mixing equipment.
Available in:
Gloss, Satin and Matt finish.
Uses:
Moor Floor Finishes AQUAGUARD floor seal / varnish has been formulated for use in areas subjected to considerable trafficking, where the requirements are for a coating with extremely high abrasion and chemical resistance and which is non-hazardous in use.
Preparation / Application:
Apply AQUAGUARD floor seal / varnish evenly using an 12″ Applicator or 20″ Applicator, roller or soft brush. Take care not to leave pools, runs or drip marks, which will detract from the overall appearance of the floor. If the floor is to be left overnight before recoating, it is important that the surface is lightly abraded using a suitable grade of sandpaper or sandscreen / mesh disc to ensure good adhesion of the finish.
Once final coat has been applied, the floor should be left for a minimum of 48 hours prior to light traffic being permitted. The finish will continue to harden for a period of 5 days.
Cleaning chemicals should be avoided during this period.
Cleaning, Abrading & Resealing:
Floor surfaces should be scrubbed with an alkaline degreasing solution, rinsed and neutralised with Moor Floor Finishes NEUTRAL FLOORCLEAN. The floor should then be rinsed clean and allowed to dry thoroughly. When dry apply a coat of AQUAGUARD floor seal / varnish and allow to dry (2–3 hours depending on temperature and humidity). Apply a second coat within 24 hours to obtain maximum adhesion between coats. Ensure that there is adequate ventilation whilst the seal is drying. The coating should be allowed to cure for 48 hours before allowing light traffic.
When over coating previously finished floors, two coats of AQUAGUARD floor seal / varnish are recommended.
Sanding & Sealing:
Ensure that the floor surface is free from oil, wax, grease, dirt and previous treatments. After sanding ensure all dust has bee removed by vacuuming or tac ragging. Floors which have been previously waxed or oiled it is recommended a primer coat of Moor Floor Finishes PRE-SEAL is used to prevent rejection or to reduce porosity. Apply a first coat of AQUAGUARD floor seal / varnish and allow to dry (2–3 hours depending on temperature and humidity). Any Line/court marking should be completed at this stage if required. Apply a second coat and third coat (if required) of AQUAGUARD floor seal / varnish within 24 hours of each other to obtain maximum adhesion between coats. Ensure that there is adequate ventilation whilst the seal is drying. The coating should be allowed to cure for 48 hours before allowing light traffic.
When coating Sanded Wood, Cork or Chipboard floors, three coats of AQUAGUARD floor seal / varnish are recommended to provide a hardwearing finish.
Note: If Line/court paint is use that is not ‘Moor Floor Finishes LINE / COURT MARKING PAINT’ then a trial test must be done to ensure compatibility between the paint and the Aquaguard.
Mixing:
The product is supplied as Part A and Part B. Open both containers and add all of Part B to the container of Part A. Close Part A container and shake thoroughly for 2 minutes. The mixture is now ready for use and should be used within 3 hours.
NOTE: Any unused mixed product should be left to harden in the UNSEALED container and disposed of safely.
Maintenance:
The sealed floor should be damp mopped or a Scrubber/drier used with a solution of Moor Floor Finishes NEUTRAL FLOORCLEAN. To prevent the build up of grease / fatty matter on the surface of the coating it should be scrubbed periodically with a mildly alkaline solution, such as Moor Floor Finishes MULTI-PURPOSE FLOOR CLEANER.
